Singapore has demanded companies review their health and safety processes after a worrying increase in the number of workplace deaths.
The government has noticed a spate of workplace fatalities across various industries, with ten in April alone. This brings the total number of fatalities in 2022to 20, higher than that for the same period since 2016.
Singapore has been making progress in making its workplaces safer over the years with the fatality rate more than halving from 2.3 per 100,000 workers in 2011 to 1.1 in 2021.
