With the country going to the polls this Saturday, pressure is building on Australia’s lawmakers to address the question of gig-economy regulation, whichever party wins the federal election.

A first-of-its-kind agreement, signed last week between food delivery platform DoorDash and the Transport Workers Union (TWU), is expected to ensure greater safety and fairness for Australia’s estimated 250,000 gig workers.
