On 22 September 2022, the Business Secretary introduced the Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Bill, under which all UK employment law derived from the EU will be “sunsetted” – essentially expire – by 31 December 2023, unless it is amended or expressly preserved before that date, or retained for a short period until 23 June 2026 – the tenth anniversary of the Brexit referendum.
