Japan dials back overtime oversight despite karoshi risk

Labour inspectorate will no longer implement blanket enforcement of monthly overtime limits

Japan has stepped back from one of its most visible efforts to curb excessive working hours, ending a blanket instruction to companies to keep monthly overtime under 45 hours.
