Thousands of workers in Indonesia held a protest in Jakarta last weekend, urging lawmakers to reject an emergency labour regulation issued last month to replace the government’s controversial Jobs Creation Law.

Last Saturday’s protests follow fears that President Joko Widodo is attempting to outflank Indonesia’s judiciary, which deemed the so-called Omnibus Law constitutionallly flawed more than 12 months ago.
