Community HSF Kramer makes up two new partners in New York and Sydney Industrial relations expert Sophie Beaman and litigator Tyler Hendry elevated in first post-merger promotions round Sophie Beaman and Tyler Hendry, HSF Kramer Image Jenna Lomax Community Editor Wednesday 22 April 2026 Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer has appointed Sophie Beaman and Tyler Hendry as partners to its industrial relations and employment practices, respectively.Based in Sydney, and with more than 14 years of experience, Beaman has been executive counsel at legacy firm Herbert Smith Freehills since 2022.She specialises in discrimination and workplace safety issues, primarily in the mining, oil, gas, and maritime sectors. She has represented clients at the Fair Work Commission, Federal Court of Australia, and Federal Circuit Court of Australia.In New York, Hendry has been a senior associate at the firm since 2019. His practice focuses on pay and leave time claims, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims, as well as contractual disputes. With more than 15 years of experience, he has represented corporate defendants before federal and state courts and administrative bodies, including governmental audits, and in arbitration.Effective from 1 May, the pair’s elevations make up a 25-strong promotion round – the first since Herbert Smith Freehills and Kramer Levin merged in June 2025.Justin D’Agostino, global chief executive at HSF Kramer said: “In this momentous year for our firm, these promotions show the depth of talent across our network, underscore our position as a global legal powerhouse – and reflect our commitment to investing in our people.“Each of our talented new partners has demonstrated qualities that reinforce our ability to deliver at the highest levels. In 2022, she was promoted to executive counsel. Hendry began his career at New York-based Bond, Schoeneck & King in 2009, spending nearly a decade there before moving to the employment, pensions, and incentives team at HSF.
