Google must pay a female senior executive more than $1m after a New York jury concluded she had been treated unfairly by the tech giant due to her gender.  

Ulku Rowe, previously a chief technology officer at JPMorgan Chase, joined Google Cloud as a technical director of financial services in 2017. But she has since claimed that her time at the company has been “overshadowed by what I believe are unfair compensation and treatment due to my gender”.
