Firms losing women lawyers on cusp of senior leadership, says Law Society

Although progress has been made in the 100 years since Carrie Morrison became the first woman solicitor in England and Wales, there is still much to be done to improve the experiences of women lawyers and retain their talent, the profession’s representative body has warned.

To mark International Women’s Day (IWD) today, 8 March, the Law Society of England and Wales has called on the legal services sector to help women lawyers overcome systemic barriers and progress to senior levels within their organisations.
