Employer group accuses Irish government of overburdening businesses

Irish business lobby Ibec has called on the government to delay introducing new workplace regulations on the grounds that they place too significant a burden on employers.

In a letter to Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, Ibec CEO Danny McCoy claims that recently increased labour costs “are imposing an unrealistic burden on businesses” and have added €4bn (£3.42) to employers’ wage bill.
