Pedro Llorente is a member of the Higher Body of State Civil Administrators, currently on leave of absence. From 2011 to 2018, he was deputy secretary of the Ministry of Employment and Social Security, where he was involved in preparing the main draft bills for labor market reforms—such as the Labor Reform of 2012—and he participated in roundtables for social dialog on labor matters. He was a member of several commissions, including the Monitoring Commission on Collective Bargaining in State-Owned Companies, and the Spanish Inter-ministerial Brexit Commission.

He also managed the ministry’s human resources and coordinated labor-related matters with the European Union, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the International Labour Organization and the G20. Previously, he held several positions of responsibility and was member of the board of directors of private and public companies, including in the health, pharmaceutical, defense, financial, infrastructures and industrial sectors.

He is a member of the Seville Bar Association.

He lectures on labor law and social security law in the Bachelor of Laws at Universidad Nebrija in Madrid.

He has been awarded several distinctions, including the Grand Cross of the Spanish Order of Civil Merit.
