Jenny X. Zhang Cravath, Swaine & Moore United States Jenny X. Zhang is a senior attorney in Cravath's litigation department and Office of the General Counsel. She focuses on representing U.S. and multinational companies and advising their boards of directors and management in connection with government investigations in such areas as the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, accounting fraud, securities fraud and insider trading. Ms. Zhang also conducts independent investigations on behalf of boards and management concerning the above issues, in addition to investigating claims of fiduciary breaches, corporate governance, compliance or anti-corruption matters in response to shareholder litigation demands, whistleblower complaints or requests from auditors. Ms. Zhang also maintains an active practice advising clients, investigating and handling litigation and administrative inquiries relating to employment disputes and separations, claims of discrimination, harassment or retaliation, and other highly sensitive personnel matters. In addition to providing guidance to employers regarding recent legal developments and assisting clients to create and update their policies and procedures, Ms. Zhang regularly advises clients regarding employment and risk‑management issues arising in the transactional context. Ms. Zhang devotes substantial time to pro bono service and works with Cravath’s Office of the General Counsel on various internal legal, professional responsibility and employment matters. In addition, Ms. Zhang, who co‑leads the Firm’s Asian/Pacific Islander affinity group, frequently speaks to student groups on topics related to the Firm’s diversity and inclusion initiatives and in 2019, she served as the Firm’s representative on the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity. Ms. Zhang was born in Beijing, China. She received a B.A. with distinction from Yale College in 2006 and a J.D. from New York University School of Law in 2009, where she was a McKay Scholar and staff editor of the Journal of Law & Business. Ms. Zhang joined Cravath in 2009. Ms. Zhang is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of New York and the Southern District of New York.
