Google will pay $118m to settle a class-action gender discrimination lawsuit that alleged the tech giant systematically underpaid its California-based female employees.

The case, which has been pending since 2017, claimed that Google pays women less than men in the same job code, in violation of California’s Equal Pay Act requirement that men and women performing substantially equal or similar work be paid equally.
