The Whistleblowers Protection Act was amended in June 2020, and the amendments will start to come into force from 1 June 2022.
Who is protected?
The original statute protects employees who have blown the whistle from being terminated or receiving other unfavourable treatments. However, there are some incidents where those who have left their company are denied their right to severance allowances.
