Deliveroo has signed a landmark union recognition deal covering the food-delivery company’s more than 90,000 UK-based self-employed riders.
The voluntary partnership agreement grants the GMB Union sole collective bargaining rights on pay as well as consultation rights on benefits and other issues, including riders’ health, safety, and wellbeing.
The GMB, which is one of the UK’s largest trade unions, will also represent individual riders who are union members in disputes.
