Unions have called for upcoming labour negotiations in Japan to focus on the introduction of flexible working arrangements, in a bid to address the work-life balance of employees. Some businesses have already begun allowing workers more flexibility but moving away from Japan’s rigid working practices may be difficult for other organisations.
