Highly acclaimed boutique
As an independent, employment-focused boutique, IUNO is an attractive choice for pre-eminent international and national law firms seeking assistance in Denmark and the broader Nordics region.
Anders Etgen Reitz and Søren Hessellund Klausen co-lead the practice from Copenhagen. In 2022, Etgen Reitz was elected as the European Employment Law Alliance (EELA) member for Denmark.
The boutique is able to service its impressive client list across the full spectrum of employment law issues. Its lengthy list of leading clients seek advice on everything from day-to-day advice to more complex, and sensitive, one-off instructions.
The team is particularly specialist in cross-border mandates. For example, Hessellund Klausen led the advice to the Danish division of an international organisation on a severance package for a Ugandan national. The employee was working under a Danish expat contract as managing director of the organisation’s Tanzania branch.
The team also supports its clients through the management of whistleblower hotlines. The group set up such a service for all KMD employees, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders. IUNO provides an end-to-end service – from receipt of reports through to communication with both the whistleblower and client, and on to conducting any related investigations.
The team is also directly involved in collective negotiations and communication with employee representatives. This expertise was leveraged in its assistance to Tech Data following the rejection of a collective bargaining agreement after the takeover of another company.
The team’s activity extends to data privacy and breaches, health and safety, support on the employment aspects of corporate transactions, and employee incentives and stock option plans. D&I and corporate responsibility are additional fields of expertise.
