On the international side, clients benefit from the firm’s membership of a non-exclusive friendship alliance with leading law firms across Europe, as well as close ties to firms across Africa and the Middle East. In 2022, this was enhanced by the establishment of a formal alliance with Zahaf & Partners in Libya.

In November 2021, the firm launched a dedicated ESG group to support clients with the implementation of related policies, within which employment partner Giovanni Muzina is a key contact.

Specialisms

The team is adept at taking on a broad array of issues impacting workforces, from day-to-day HR management through to advice on strategic business decisions.

Advisory work regularly involves assisting clients with the employment law obligations relating to M&A and other corporate transactions, establishing operations in Italy, and restructuring processes. This also extends to companies in financial difficulty needing to implement mass redundancies, or business transfers, for which the team is also able to handle the industrial relations side.

A notable area of expertise is in issues relating to the c-suite, from negotiating terms of employment and remuneration (including in regulated sectors) through to terminations.

On the contentious side, the group is well placed to act on litigation, including against trade unions.

In addition, the team is well-versed in competition-related issues, such as non-compete agreements and staff poaching.

The department also offers expertise in data privacy, corporate governance, and employee incentives, as well as training and workshops on legislative changes.
