After a number of setbacks, the EU finally agreed the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) following substantial changes to the original text.

In a vote earlier this month, 17 out of 27 member states backed the legislation which requires private companies to adhere to human rights standards across their supply chains, with a particular emphasis on child and forced labour risks.
