Terminating staff on performance grounds is among the most challenging of tasks for HR professionals in Ireland, according to a new law firm survey.

The poll from Mason Hayes & Curran found that 44% of employers have difficultly navigating dismissal procedures for employees who are underperforming in the roles.

The survey of 450 employers across both the public and private sectors found that dismissals on capability (35%) and conduct grounds (21%) were also challenging for HR professionals.
