German firms unite to “combat extremism” ahead of EU elections

Ahead of the EU’s parliamentary elections in June, a group of 30 blue-chip German companies formed an alliance on Tuesday to promote “diversity, openness, and tolerance”.

Named the “We Stand For Values” alliance, and backed by the German Trade Union Federation (DGB), the group consists of some of the biggest companies in Germany, including BMW, Siemens, Volkswagen, and Philip Morris, as well as family-owned businesses and start-ups.
